Rocky Mountain PBS

rmpbsLOGORocky Mountain PBS is the premier public media resource for all Coloradans. On-air, online, and in person, they serve their diverse communities as a convener of people, ideas and perspectives.

As a Big Brain Club Program Partner, RMPBS provides educational content for students and teachers, promotes The Big Brain Club in the Rocky Mountain community, and will be a major presence in our upcoming Get Your Nerd On Days (more on that coming soon).

Here are a few more ways that Rocky Mountain PBS and The Big Brain Club are working together:

StoryMakers is a short story contest for young writers in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade. There is no entry fee, and submissions can be made online between August 19 and October 11. Each grade level will have three winners and five runners up, each of whom will receive awesome prizes, a digital storytelling workshop and tour of the RMPBS studios, and an invitation to a special awards luncheon hosted by Big Brain Club founder Dom Testa!

Beginning this year, Matchwits is open to all Colorado high schools.

Matchwits is a weekly academic quiz program exclusively for Colorado high school students. The on-air tournament consists of four rounds of increasingly-difficult questions covering subjects like English, history, geography, science, and more. Matchwits will be back in January for its 29th season.

Kids Fun Fest is an event geared toward young children and their parents, filled with all sorts of great entertainment and activities. The Big Brain Club will be on hand — along with favorites like Clifford the Big Red Dog, Sid the Science Kid, and WordGirl — on Saturday, September 7 in Downtown Denver. This is a great event for future Big Brain Clubbers, and for the younger siblings of current Big Brain Clubbers!
