About once a month, The Big Brain Club hosts interactive, one-day-only events for students and families of all ages. These events provide authentic, real-world opportunities for young people to learn more about all sorts of topics — everything from the physics of a hockey rink to the experience of walking on the moon.
Here are some of our upcoming Get Your Nerd On Days for Big Brain Clubbers in Colorado. Check back often, as we’ll continue to add new events throughout the year.
Saturday, May 24 — Get Your Nerd On with Buzz Aldrin at Barnes & Noble!
American astronaut and living legend Buzz Aldrin is a vital advocate for the continuing quest to push the boundaries of the universe as we know it. A pioneering astronaut who first set foot on the moon as a member of Apollo 11, Aldrin is also an aerospace engineer who designed an orbital rendezvous technique critical to future planetary missions. Aldrin has a vision, and in his new book Mission to Mars he plots a path to send humans to the Red Planet by 2035.
Join us for a very special engagement with Dr. Aldrin at the Barnes & Noble at 960 S. Colorado Blvd, where the space icon will talk with fans and sign copies of his new book. The event blasts off at 1:00 p.m., but we’re expecting a big turnout, so we recommend arriving early.
Proceeds from sales of Mission to Mars will benefit The Big Brain Club.

Saturday, June 7 — Get Your Nerd On at The Wildlife Experience!
The Wildlife Experience is a spectacular wildlife art and natural history museum, which also serves as a cultural center and community asset for south metro Denver. The 151,000 square foot prairie mission-style facility hosts numerous fine art, natural history, and interactive science exhibits along with its signature feature, Globeology, which features open dioramas interpreting eight biomes of the world.
On June 7, The Big Brain Club will be on hand all day to visit with guests and enjoy the sights and sounds. From 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Nature’s Educators will be on hand with a Great Horned Owl, Red-Tailed Hawk, and a Gyrfalcon!
Come out and enjoy the museum — and be sure to check out the live raptors courtesy of Nature’s Educators, plus other fun experiences like the Coral Reef Feeding and the wonderful 3D wildlife movies in the Extreme Theater (including Penguins 3D, Wonders of the Arctic 3D, and Great White Shark 3D).
Standard admission fees apply, and proceeds benefit The Big Brain Club.
