Pretty Brainy, a cool nonprofit based in Northern Colorado, is offering a half-day STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math) learning workshop for girls between the ages of 10 and 14.
Pretty Brainy has built a strong reputation for giving girls practical, fun, hands-on fashion design projects that incorporate real-world elements of the STEM/STEAM curriculum.
The upcoming Fashionably Mashed workshop will be held on Monday, Sept. 16 from 12:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at ArtLab Fort Collins (239 Linden Street in Old Town). This is a district-wide day off for K-8 students in the Poudre School District, so students won’t have to miss any classes to take part.
The cost is $49 per workshop, and includes a designer’s material kit, a book, and blank t-shirt that will be transformed into wearable art. Register here before it fills up.
Here’s a recent highlight from Channel 9 in Denver:
We’ve seen Pretty Brainy programs first-hand, and they are a great investment for young girls. These workshops are a terrific blend of fun and learning — they keep girls engaged while teaching valuable lessons. Highly recommended.
